Tune In To Yourself

Listen to Your Body’s Silent Voice:
A Guided Somatic Meditation,

With Alé Duarte

“Trauma is not in the event itself; rather, trauma resides in the nervous system.”

Peter Levine, Somatic Experiencing TM

This is the premise of body-based therapy.

When the body goes into shock, the nervous system can become de-regulated, triggering bodily sensations and increasing the notion of fear.

Helping children become aware of their bodily sensations, will lead them to natural self-regulation.   But first, we must regulate ourselves.  We must be grounded before we can offer help to our children.
